Here is a homemade recipe that honors our natural Ilanga Nature honey and vanilla.
A moist, fragrant, easy-to-prepare cake… that fills the entire kitchen with its aroma. 🍰
Ingredients:
- 500 g of flour
- 200 g of sugar
- 100 g of softened butter
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 2 eggs
For the cream :
- 200 g of sugar
- 700 g of heavy whole cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation :
- Melt in a double boiler: butter, sugar and honey until dissolved. Mix, let cool.
- Add the eggs, then the flour and yeast. Form a dough, let rest 30 min in the cold.
- Divide the dough into 7-8 parts, roll them out and cut out rounds. Cook each round 5 minutes at 200 °C. Also cook the scraps and crumble them.
- Prepare the cream: mix thick cream and sugar (add vanilla sugar if desired). And add vanilla extract
- To assemble the cake: alternate a round of dough and a layer of cream until the last.
- Cover the cake with cream and sprinkle with crumbs.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours so that the cream penetrates the dough well.
