Spices, those aromatics that personalize recipes. If you have to choose only a few, 5 spices are worth keeping in the kitchen. In addition to giving flavor to dishes, they are also beneficial to health. They are star anise, cinnamon, clove, pink pepper and combava.

Anise and clove for the transit

The clove is inseparable from the name of the Big Island, because it is an integral part of the heritage of spices of Madagascar. Used to perfume some of the world's most famous recipes, it is however little known for its digestive benefits. It is a spice that you can keep at home all year long, provided that you  keep it well. An infusion of a few nails prevents and treats bloating. To soften its strong side, add a little honey, cinnamon and a dash of lemon juice. It is the same for the star anise which, beyond its subtle smell for the recipes in the oven, is also recommended to look after the flatulences. Originally from Asia, it has been exported to Madagascar and has benefited from a climate favorable to its cultivation.

Eternally young with cinnamon

You dream of being able to stop time. If that's not possible, at least you can slow down the damage done by free radicals. To do this, go to the kitchen and prepare your favorite recipes by adding a little cinnamon. There are cinnamon powders and cinnamon sticks, and you are free to incorporate it into your dietary needs or your baked goods. Enhance your tea time with cinnamon and do yourself a world of good. Don't forget that these 5 spices are good for your health.

Vary the pleasures with combava peel powder

Wake up the palate with a zest of combava. The virtues of this citrus fruit are to form a natural shield against viral infections. If you can't have it all year round, in its fresh form, fill up on vitamin C by opting for its powdered form. Also rich in antioxidants like cinnamon, combining them in your dishes is an excellent idea.

A pinch of pepper or pink berries

There are few recipes that do without pepper and pink berries. On that note, you should know that pepper is in the  Top 10 of the most aphrodisiac spices. Often equated with each other, these two condiments are however totally different, although they can enhance the flavor of dishes. Make your guests' mouths water by adding a pinch of pepper. Pepper is a bit stronger than its cousin the pink berry. You will appreciate its strength which varies according to the lightness of your hand in the preparation. Effective as a natural antidepressant, it is also a formidable weapon against bad cholesterol. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties are another reason to keep it warm in your kitchen.

Pink berries, false peppers appreciated by all ages

You may be mistaken in taste as well, as the similarities are so striking. The pink berries have indeed a subtle peppery, but sweet taste. They will be served with raw vegetables and cheeses. On the health side, they are real antiseptics and antibacterial.
