Vanilla, clove, pepper, combava, these are names that effectively recall Madagascar and its rare spices. More than spices, they are the witnesses of several centuries of tradition and culture. They are witnesses of love and respect for the nature of this island in the Indian Ocean. Apart from cooking, each rare spice offers a multitude of benefits, to be discovered without delay.

The combava: a citrus fruit like no other

Mistakenly compared to a large lemon, combava is indeed a citrus fruit. Cultivated in Madagascar, its zest is the part of the fruit that promises wonders to the taste buds. If elsewhere, we harvest the seeds and the leaves, here we rather exploit the skin of the fruit. With its atypical taste, it is integrated into a wide range of sweet and savory culinary dishes. It is especially appreciated for its therapeutic virtues against viral infections. In particular, colds, coughs and flu. A pinch of Combava Powder dissolved in tea, in winter or in summer, stimulates the immune system like no other medicine.

Pepper and false pepper, a legend in Madagascar

Pepper is a multi-colored spice, as well as to the sight as to the mouth, without forgetting its effect on the nose. All the senses will be awakened with this rare spice. Grapes are to wine what pepper is to good food. We will find green pepper, white pepper and black pepper. Simply because the berries are harvested at different stages of maturity. So there are as many variations of colors as there are varieties of pepper. The pink berrynicknamed "false pepper", could subtly slip into this panel of tastes and perfumes for the great pleasure of gourmets. A little rounded in the mouth, a little sweet, it is nonetheless surprising to the palate. With all kinds of meats, raw vegetables, desserts, pepper is a must.

Vanilla, a rare spice nicknamed "black gold" of Madagascar

The vanilla  is one of the rare spices of Madagascar. Growing on a good part of the eastern coast of the Big Island, this small pod is a real orchid. Sought after for its legendary perfume, vanilla is a beauty queen at all levels: cooking, beauty, cosmetics, perfumery. The flagship flavor of desserts, this rare spice lends itself readily to the demands of fashion and beauty. It delicately infiltrates the wake in the greatest houses of haute couture. It can be found in the form of bewitching fragrances. Perfumes to crunch! We appreciate its softness and its warm, yet elegant note in everything it touches.

The clove: the highlight of the show

Leaves, seeds, peels, zests: we have seen it all with the rare spices from Madagascar. But one last one stands out from the rest. It is the clove or more precisely the clove. Blackened after being dried once harvested, cloves are not only used in cooking. Conventional and alternative medicine often use cloves in the preparation of remedies. Since the beginning of time, all civilizations have used it to soothe dental ailments. It is also used to soothe muscular pains. You have to go far to find the best quality clove. To go to distant countries like Madagascar, which makes all its rarity.

Our spices from Madagascar have the advantage of being pure. We privilege manual work for the sorting as well as for the setting in jar to ensure an irreproachable quality of the product. None of them has been deprived of its essential oil. Most spices are delivered raw, others are ground. To each his own spice!
